Dr. Hylton will be available on a part time basis throughout
the summer.
Please call 404 894 2585 if you wish to schedule an appointment.
Be advised that all students are required to pay health fees for the summer
semester in order to receive services at the health center.
The
Psychiatry Clinic provides general psychiatric services to eligible students
and their spouses. This includes thorough psychiatric evaluations and
medication management for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, substance
abuse, and other mental health issues. These services are provided by Jennifer
Fortner, MD and Belinda Hylton, MD, who collaborate with the Georgia Tech
Counseling Center
to ensure that students receive comprehensive care.
The
Psychiatry Clinic is located on the second floor of Student Health Services and
is open Monday through Friday throughout the school year. Please contact Health Services 404-894-1420
for the current hours of operation or to schedule an appointment. After seeing
a psychiatrist, recommendations may include medications, psychotherapy with the
psychiatrist, referral to the Counseling
Center (if not already a
client there), or referrals to the community for situations that are beyond the
scope of what can be managed at Georgia Tech. When students are referred to or
from Georgia Tech’s Counseling
Center, the two entities
will attempt to collaborate in providing your care. By law, students who are
under the age of 18 must receive consent by their parent or legal guardian
prior to receiving treatment at Health Services.
